I love this drill. It is best to use a hammer drill or impact drill. And best used on dry wood. THIS IS NOT FOR CHOPING FIREWOOD. This is an IS for splitting firewood into smaller kindling-sized firewood. I didn't want to wait for the wood to thaw and dry so I grabbed some prizes and tried the bit, it worked but because the wood was still frozen it stuck to the bit and wanted to snap out of my grip. The only complaint I have is that the bit unscrews from the shaft or sleeve that goes into the drill. Every time I go too far and have to unscrew it, it stays in the wood and unscrews. There is already quarterly wood the size of a campfire. I wonder if the threads would be tighter, if it would be easier to hold the tree when he comes in and works with it. In any case, it was a GOOD BUY.
