The scale is a must have for any barista, it works very well and is very easy to use. I was able to easily place my empty porta filter on this scale, hit the break button to zero it, then fill the pf with regrind and measure until I had the amount I wanted. The result is a much better, if not perfect, espresso compared to what I've been making to the point where I blindly used a disproportionate amount of grounds and got very watery in the extraction. I've only used this scale during the day but so far so good.
