Incredible product for the money!

It's not often that I immediately feel like writing a product review. This time I have to make an exception. This dash cam is an AMAZING product and much cheaper than lower spec models. I couldn't believe the video quality associated with this camera set and the first test drive was enough to motivate me to share it with other consumers. The entire product installed in less than fifteen minutes and was effective from the first use. I connected the power supply and tested both cameras before mounting/installing them in my car. I don't want to sit in the Texas sun and sweat through my clothes until I'm sure the product is working. After that I tried two other models before this one (Pyle and a Nexar based "brand") and both failed catastrophically. From camera operation to setup, controls and SD card (64GB vs 32GB on most devices), this brand is vastly superior to anything I've had before. I quoted the word "owner" because two of the three I previously owned went back to Revain. Let's start with the installation: I have a Jeep (Compass) and the molding inside is quite soft. Pulling the cables was VERY easy and the tool provided was a huge help as I only had to remove two moldings (windshield and driver's door). The rear camera was easy to disconnect if needed, as Jeep did a very good job with its (user-friendly) shaping. Once turned on, the rear camera (which I was worried about) turned on immediately and displayed beautifully. Configuration: The configuration menu is extremely intuitive and covers everything a user could need (in my humble opinion). Once configured, the settings persisted even after a shutdown and restart. It only took five minutes to set up and my cameras are fully functional and seem reliable (although it's only been a few hours since delivery). Camera quality: first class! Images are crisp and clear, and jitter correction delivers impressively smooth videos. When I turn off the video and the jeep is parked, the mirror vibrates (Chicom device). The rubber tips still allow for vibrations and the idle is a little rougher than when it was transported. Even that was fixed with amazing efficiency (I'll drive it to work tomorrow and post it). I don't really worry about video recordings in the cabin, because I can't think of any useful use in everyday life. However, those who value internal recording can look for another model, as it does not offer one. The sound is surprisingly crisp and clear. It's the best I've ever tasted. Controls: Being able to switch cameras with a tap and swipe is an unexpected benefit. My jeep had a built in rear view camera so I decided to mount this camera higher. This gives me both high and low vision, which is an advantage. Since Jeep offers a very good reversing camera (appears on the review screen when reversing) with a self-adjusting set of guides, reversing is very easy and does not require any distortion of vision. The added benefit of having both high and low visibility makes reverse parking so much easier it's not even fun. The ability to control recording (both audio and video) on the fly sets it apart from the crowd. An added bonus is the ability to quickly take a series of shots (or just one). The ability to switch cameras with a tap and swipe is just the icing on the (VERY CUTE) cake. I haven't had a chance to test the night vision on this one yet. I don't really care as it's (usually) only parked away from my house when I'm at work during the day. I have excellent video surveillance at home. My wife and wife's cars are well protected by this observation. Any "impact" to my car is well lit, and all surveillance in the dark is handled by my home security. I'll try to remember to update this when I have valid dates to submit. General recommendation: If you're not into cockpit recording, this is the best DVR I've found for the money. This is a really impressive system for the price. There are systems that cost twice as much (and more) that impress me a lot less. Full HD recording with crystal clear images and intuitive, simple and spontaneous controls make this an easy 5-star recommendation. You really can't go wrong unless you receive a factory defective unit. My final conclusion on the recommendation: Why haven't you ordered this system yet?!
