Started out on clean ice when I drank better whiskey. At first I made a small Coleman cooler, but then I got tired of slicing ice and the cooler took up a lot of space in my freezer. It takes up about 1/3 of the fridge space and now I don't have to worry about cutting ice. It takes about 24 hours to make 2 balls. So if you need a bunch in a short amount of time, this isn't for you. I just do a dozen in 6 days, use that dozen, and then repeat. The balls store fairly well in a plastic ziplock bag, there may be a bit of frost but they are easily removed by dropping them under water for a second or just a drink to clear the frost. Very happy with this purchase as it was cheap and it works.
