I've had this for a few months and now it's time for a review. I own a multi-story building that was built in the late 1990's. It's like a finished basement. It has about 6 coax lines throughout the house. When it's done, there's no good way to start the ethernet. I've played with ethernet over power lines before and the speed wasn't great. I had been watching MoCA 2.0 on my watch list for quite some time until I heard about it at Slickdeals. Skeptical but hopeful, and with Revains easy return policy, I went for it. So far I'm impressed. Let me tell you about my setup. I only have cable internet. No cable tv so satellite dish although the previous owners had an antenna. I have a MoCA setup in my main area where the cable goes in and another one on the ground floor. I get good speeds good enough to stream very large files. Now the main part, here is what I bought for this setup. MoCA splitter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P6VHLP0/?coliid=I1757IZVM8HUY3&colid=1C8M8XTUDWB3N&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it I have this setup where the cable modem is located. MoCA filter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DC8IEE6/?coliid=I39V8LIN161YBE&colid=1C8M8XTUDWB3N&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it I connected it to the cable that comes into the house from the cable company. Splitter https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QTPL2YQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 As I said above I have about 6 cable outlets in this house. Box outside, they were all on the splitter, my MoCA didn't work until I replaced the old splitter with this one. Once I did that, everything worked great. Cable https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LETAIAI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Well, if you're a geek like me, you either have a coax cable lying around for me next, or I am the same one you've removed and thrown away over the years, thinking about what I would ever use coax for. Make sure you have a cable before going into that. I wanted to list what I ordered to help people save time as it took me about a week to make this setup due to missing parts (cables, main splitter) so hopefully this will save you some time . I was very methodical with the installation. I first set up 2 MoCAs with a cable in between and connected a computer to each end via ethernet. The network is a bit of a hack, but if you set yourself a static IP in the range listed in the doc, you can see it and change it to your network. I then put the filter on top and then checked to see if the internet was still working through the cable modem. Then I tried MoCA in different rooms...no ping. That's when I started to question the current splitter from the outside. After ordering and receiving a new one from Revain I was fine. Now I have great speeds in my basement and can store my NAS there. This is a good alternative.
