Description of goCoax MoCA 2.5 Adapter (2 Pack), Ethernet Over Coax with 2.5Gbps Bandwidth for Existing Coaxial Cables. Ideal Home Mesh Wi-Fi Companion, White (WF-803M)

MoCA 2.5 can offer extremely high bandwidth of 2.5 Gbps. This bandwidth are shared by all the MoCA devices in the same coaxial network. That is more than enough to allow streaming 4K/8K videos at the same time, while still playing an online game and transferring pictures from a computer or a mobile device to a television for viewing. Combined with the GE Ethernet inerface, our product can provide the real 1Gbps backhual to your home network. This is a cost effective and amazing upgrading. Unlike Wi-Fi, MoCA is based on coaxial cable, a shielded metal wire. That can minimize the external interference. Also the attenuation of the cable is very small, less than 8dB per 100 feet. Even with a 60dB path loss, you still can get a full-speed connection. It is almost comparable to Ethernet. Improve online gaming by lower latency. Latency is the important quality of your network, it is the term used to indicate any kind of delay that happens in data communication over a network. When play games online, latency is critical. The lower latency, the better gaming experience. MoCA 2.5 can achieve 3ms delay. For Wi-Fi, the value is variable, from milliseconds to tens of milliseconds. So MoCA is the best choice for gaming players. Please buy at least two devices to enjoy the high speed MoCA 2.5. They can be connected to a variety of devices in the home. Maximum 16 MoCA devices in every home network.

No product support but product works after troubleshooting

After a week of troubleshooting I discovered that one of my devices came with a bad ethernet cable that only worked on a 100Mbps connection. Replacing the ethernet cables with mine solved my problem. I'm still having issues with the support process and knowledge base information. When I pay for something, I don't have to dig through forums and reviews to make it work. Attempts to connect directly using dedicated RG6 coaxial cable and dedicated devices at each end. Neither option affects this…

Works great with Comcast and DOCSIS modem

I bought two of these to connect my SmartTV to the rest of the newly added CAT6 infrastructure. Originally I wanted to run CAT6 from the wall rack in my second floor closet to the first floor living room, but due to the difficulty of finding the route and access to the wall I decided to use the existing coax infrastructure. My DOCSIS (cable) modem sits on top of a rack and connects to a 2.4GHz splitter, one of the outputs of which connects to the coax cable going into the living room. I ended…

Good material but with a few blemishes

Really great overall. Extremely easy way to connect 2 parts of my house via coax cable and get full gigabit speed. The only point: the Ethernet port on the device. It's finicky, especially with some of my stupid Netgear switches like the GS305 (tried 2 different switches, both v3) or the GS108. My two GoCoax devices just couldn't maintain a stable Ethernet connection with them. The switches were switched to managed Netgear on one side and SoHo TP-Link on the other, and the GoCoax devices were…

Doesn't work for me on Verizon Fios

It doesn't work with me and my specific Fios app. I used an Actiontec adapter which was plug and play. I needed this adapter to get MoCA 2.0 related speeds on my coax network. I have gigabit ethernet powering my Fios G1100 router over the WAN. At the other end of the house I have an Actiontec WCB6200Q Network/Wi-Fi Extender connected via a coax cable to get Wi-Fi in that part of the house and also to connect my computer. As you may or may not know, the Fios G1100 is standard MoCA 2.0 only and…

  • I'm holding my fists
Cons
  • Something else

Ok so I like the fact that this MoCA adapter is affordable. I had my ActionTec ECB6200 refurbished in a $130 "value pack"! Now they cost about $40 because they only cost $65. Also, GoCoax adapters are more customizable and have many more features in their web interfaces. In comparison, they are much more interesting for people who like detailed settings. However, I mainly wanted to upgrade for a speed boost and to be honest I was a little disappointed. *Technically* the MoCA 2.5 standard should

Great addition to large homes

I've had this for a few months and now it's time for a review. I own a multi-story building that was built in the late 1990's. It's like a finished basement. It has about 6 coax lines throughout the house. When it's done, there's no good way to start the ethernet. I've played with ethernet over power lines before and the speed wasn't great. I had been watching MoCA 2.0 on my watch list for quite some time until I heard about it at Slickdeals. Skeptical but hopeful, and with Revains easy return…
