I *finally* ran out of the 500 matchboxes I bought a thousand years ago so I decided to buy one of these lighters. Instead, it appeared in my suggestions. I don't have to make a lot of fires, so the whole technique felt wonderfully futuristic for a small price and was therefore worth a try. If you only light one candle wick, this is perfect. I think you could also ignite a piece of paper if you throw it in the fireplace. Anything else would break the chain too much. For an apartment dweller like me who is more worried about safety than the Big Ole Flames, this is perfect. I don't have to think about buying batteries. The flame isn't big enough to be dangerous. Is that enough to light the wick of a seasonal candle - for my purposes? Ideal.
