My daughter is a size 11 but all her previous tap shoes were bought in the following size as they tend to run small. I ordered these shoes in size 12 and they were too small. I contacted a company who were more than willing to trade in for a larger pair. I received 13 today, they fit with little room to grow. These tap shoes have an elastic band that runs along the top of the foot under the temple. Is that what you want! This provides extra security and prevents the shoes from dangling and loosening while dancing. Also, it's a well-tailored shoe with more sole flexibility than others I've come across.
