This is the third peeler I've used. I was very disappointed with the first two, but this one is just beautiful. It takes some getting used to, but post a learning curve and you'll regret the years wasted on the knife. In short: make sure the apple is firm and unlabeled, hold the end of the peeler close to the knife to keep it from spinning, twist with your other hand and apply some force towards the knife, spin quickly.
