Review on ๐Ÿ“ถ NET-DYN USB WiFi Adapter - High-Speed 150Mbps 802.11n Wireless Internet Dongle for PC and Mac by Robert Hardin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Thin but strong in power supplies

Pound for pound, this is great value. I have a small tech company and this saved me. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga and sometime over a year ago the WiFi went down. While I was still under warranty, an IT rep told me I would have to give up my laptop for a few days while they file a claim with Lenovo and either get a replacement or send a tech to swap out the motherboard. So maybe 1 day without my laptop, maybe 5 or more. Wanting to back up some things on my computer for fear of data loss (unlikely but possible), I decided to just buy this adapter and another one for $10 each and see which one works best. It was better for several reasons: 1) The low profile is just a little extra grip on the side of my car. I take my laptop with me everywhere and put it in my tote bag probably 2 times a day to 15+ times a day depending on travel and meetings. There is a high chance that it will somehow collide with the entrance and exit or the carrying case. So the smaller the overhang, the better. The only thing that could improve the situation would be if the edges were rounded so it wouldn't stick to objects. However, it can also make it difficult to plug and unplug the USB port. 2) Connectivity - I tried this option on another brand and for some reason the other brand often failed to connect or keep a connection. NET-DYN does an excellent job of connecting to a variety of Wi-Fi environments, having traveled in hotel rooms, conference rooms, airports, and airplanes. This is my second. My last one lasted a year although I was hoping it would last 6 months until eventually all my abuse caused it to fall apart and stop working. I think I worked pretty hard with this device and it worked way better than I expected.
