RZR 170 SPRAY FIXED

Cliffsnotes: This fuel pump fixed the 2017 RZR 170's hard starting and constant spraying/stalling. I needed a small hose clamp to connect the hose to the pump after cutting off the original crimp terminal. and also had to unsolder the connectors that were on the original pump. Just installed on my 2017 nephew RZR 170. His family lives on a horse ranch where he rides them every day. I don't know how many hours/miles it has but I'm willing to bet it's one of the highest in the country. And it wasn't an easy hour. Dirty pits, forest, long gravel roads, etc. He terrorizes all property with it. That being said, we had a few issues with rzr. The first problem was that he died driving through deep water or mud. I diagnosed the ignition coil with a water hose. A few weeks later he reported starting problems and splashes. This problem got worse over time to the point where it almost stopped working. I drained the fuel and refilled with new fuel, and also changed the oil, rear brake and air filter. The new Sprit ran a little better, but still had starting problems. I sent it back to him with a reasonably clean health sheet, I put a large dose of meerschaum in the tank hoping that would clear the start. He worked on it for about a month and the spray came back with a vengeance. It starts but doesn't continue. No throttle position will make it work. I bought an online service manual and tested every component I could to make sure their resistance was within spec. Everything checked out fine. I couldn't check the fuel pump because there was no pressure gauge for it. Decided to give this fuel pump a try, thought it was worth a try for $80. Well what do you know. New fuel pump and it works like a dream. As others have said I had to desolder the old fuel pump and also use a small hose clamp instead of a clamp on the clamp. He's so excited! And me too! He's 10 and I want him to keep thinking his Uncle T can fix it.
