I bought the wrong width. 5 inches seems 2 inches too narrow. I have yet to see if 6 inches is really 6 inches, but I'm hopeful. Anyway, I just tucked them in even though they are 2 inches too tight. I hate giving things back. On the exit side, it may fall off. On the exit side, the frame holds it right. It's a horizontal mount. If your filter is vertical, you may need to return it. Of course you can cut 1x2 wood as spacers. Just give her back. The air seems very clean. The off-road capability is great, although narrower than I wanted to buy. My rating probably does not apply to cautious buyers. My brain works, it just loves free time.
