Review on πŸ”Œ Cable Matters USB 3.0 to Ethernet Adapter - Black (Supports 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Network) by Chuck Hernandez

It broke my Nintendo Switch

DO NOT BUY. This adapter has caused me many problems and almost complete hardware failures on my switch. I plugged everything in, tried to set it up, but the switch didn't recognize the plug in because the ethernet end was loose and needed to be pushed further in after the CAT6 click. After figuring this out, the switch couldn't identify the network and suggested a reboot. I rebooted, opened internet settings and it froze on a gray screen. I decide to turn it off and the screen goes black, but it doesn't actually turn off - the controllers are still connected, the fan runs for the first 10 seconds but is still warm. Removing it from the dock didn't bring it back. I had to do a debug level hard reboot to recover it and it could have been seriously corrupted if I hadn't acted sooner. The reviews say it doesn't work, which is obvious, but an adapter that can potentially brick/damage hardware isn't worth the few bucks saved compared to a quality adapter/third party purchase.
