The copper and mercury litmus test was easy to set up, but when the reading was above 0 ppm it was difficult to determine the exact range. This was especially true for mercury. The hue at 0ppm was pale gold and the next shade at 0.002ppm was VERY minimally darker. Unfortunately, this first stage would bring mercury levels into the maximum USEPA drinking water exposure. That's a problem, there's no room for error. The copper test was more forgiving. The color change was more obvious when you hit the maximum USEPA value for that metal. To be honest, if I used this kit regularly, I'd be able to assess several areas better. All in all, I'd probably try again as I'm most concerned about lead and copper contamination.
