Review on Frigidaire WF2CB PureSource2 Filtration System by Alex Solano

This filter sends you to a psychiatric hospital.

My husband ordered this filter, he obviously did not read the previous reviews. We had a heck of a lot of time to get this thing up and running. It looks exactly like the old one we had in the fridge and we assumed it was from Frigidaire as the Frigidaire salesman says. We get it, put it in the fridge, but it doesn't hold, it flies out of the holder. I assumed we had too much water pressure and lowered it, but we still had the same problem. So to pour water you had to hold the filter in place and push it all the way in or the water wouldn't come out, so it's like a built-in child-lock mechanism if you want one, but we didn't. . I also don't think the ice is formed when the filter pops out, so the inability to keep it inside prevented our ice from working properly. I also noticed greyish strips of film floating in the water. Not sure what it is, but it's really awful and I filtered out several large cups of water. So I figured it was probably the line to our fridge as we bought it used and I needed to flush and clean it so I went to the back of the fridge to check and it was splashing water and leaking. So at that point I turned off the water and we contacted a technician to check our leak. He was able to fix it, but he couldn't figure out why the filter blew. While he was here I told him he was going to shoot him so he tried a few times and he shot really so hard that he hit my bottom shelf that fits in the door and broke it completely so see it looks like it's another $30. The cost I have to pay to have it replaced is on top of the $75 I paid to have the mechanic come out. It fixed my leak but couldn't stop my filter from falling out. His idea was to screw it in which I didn't want but he said it would work so he did and it didn't work and it still popped out and now I probably can't get it back. So I decide to call Frigidaire after reading reviews on google where people say there is a review and they need to fix the fridge seat or something. She kinda refused to help because we didn't buy a legitimate Frigidaire filter and they only sell it on their website. She said my fridge hadn't been recalled and no owner had ever called to complain about it and that there were no maintenance records at all. I found it very disappointing and somewhat fraudulent that it says Frigidaire but they are not the actual seller. She didn't seem to care, she said to take it up with Revane. I don't know who is selling it and if it's a real Frigidaire filter or some kind of fake. Extremely disappointed after all this and the money spent I then figured I would have to go back and buy another $40 filter from Frigidaire. Com I'm back on Google. The only solution I could find is to take the needle nose pliers while simultaneously pressing the eject button while squeezing the two metal pins together to make them smaller so they actually grab the filter. This has worked so far, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that it continues to work. I'm still frustrated even though I found a temporary solution because we've had other fridges where changing the filter was easy and shouldn't be that hard. I'm still trying to filter the water so there aren't any floating things in it. I would like to know what it was and if there is any point in drinking at all.
