This is a bimetal cutter. Drywall, ceiling tiles, steel, wood, stainless steel and cast iron. We had to cut 9 holes in the tin ceiling for lamps. The first hole was cut with no problems. The second hole isn't bad, the third hole was difficult and the fourth didn't cut through. Hole. It just burned the paint when we tried to cut it, but we had to stop because the pilot hole got bigger and the cutter started walking on the sheet metal. I bought a second cutter through Home Depot. We managed to cut all 9 holes but both cutters are being returned via Home Depot as they both shot through.
