Review on πŸš— Pacesetter 753021: Optimal OEM Replacement Manifold Converter for Enhanced Performance by Allan Lambert

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Downgraded to 2 stars

UPDATE - Cracked Manifold 20,000 miles after install. Pacesetter sent a replacement manifold, which also ruptured. At the same time I bought a Pacesetter header for the other side of the engine and that also broke after 30,000 miles. So that's 3 headers cracked through a couple of welds, not just a hairline crack! Pacesetter's warranty process is quite reasonable and they send a free replacement (4th distributor) but it still takes time and effort (or money) to install, hence the reason for the low rating - a lot of time spent replacing broken ones item wasted. The catalytic part is excellent in OBDII measurements, but the quality of the welds leaves something to be desired. They may have improved with the 4th manifold I got but still 3 out of 4 manifolds cracked so this is a 2 star product. This header/catalyst is one of the cheaper cat replacement options on my car after 165,000 miles. The welds aren't very pretty and there are weld spatters, but what's really the difference. The only problem was that I had to grind down the mounting holes a bit to get them to fit, and also the gasket and new studs were not included for some reason. They were included for the other side (I bought the other side elsewhere). The rest of the distributor works great. After installation I hooked up my laptop and saw a 'flat line' for the bottom O2 sensor which means this manifold is doing exactly what it's supposed to. I've driven it over 10,000 miles and the bottom gauge (brand new) still shows that the function of this converter hasn't changed one iota.
