Review on Trim-Lok Weatherstrip with Rubber Locking Mechanism by Matt Conner

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The shoulders of this product are not high enough for a secure grip.

Installed this TYPE of system on Kubota RTV 1100 for customers for several years when their glass broke with seal rupture. I bought the 1/4" panel and 1/4" glass version as the RTV 1100 has 1/4" plastic doors. I was fed up with Kubota's high OEM price and made the mistake of making it cheaper. with this proposal to Revain. A BIG mistake I want to add. This material isn't wide enough to provide a secure enough fit, and when true lateral pressure is applied, it rolls out of the frame. It's a big problem if you use proper technique, and that's especially true if you've installed this system a few times or more. Lubrication is an absolute must. They tear their hair out (and make it squeak!). I'd suggest if you're using this stuff you've secured your setup with some sort of inconspicuous clamp or even glue, when I installed the glass on a Kubota RTV 1100 last night, for one customer, simply closing the opposite door on the machine generated enough Pressure in the cabin to blow fresh air in. Stable right out of the door frame. A very, very expensive UV protected polarized window with a built in slider. Now I don't have $60 left for this stuff and need to replace the glass for about $500. The rubber doesn't overlap the frame/plate and glass enough to hold it securely, so Kubota uses a version that's about half an inch wider. With this material you can literally go upstairs and just pull your glass right out of the frame.

Pros
  • ONE-PIECE OR TWO-PIECE LOCKING ACTION: Trim-Lok retainer spacers are available in one-piece or two-piece configurations. The two-piece connection requires a matching locking key for an even more secure seal. Bump key is sold separately.
Cons
  • High price
