Not so happy with the brake pads

Replaced the original OEM pads on a 2013 Toyota Corolla (30,000 miles) just because I put on a new set of tires and wanted to complement the better ride with the new pads. . That was a mistake on my part. A creaking appeared 500 miles after installation - bad. When reversing, the squeak was extremely bad. I endured a few thousand miles until the embarrassment of the stop sign became unbearable. When I went to replace them, I found that the coating, which negated the need for gaskets, was failing. It has come loose from most of the pad (see picture) including where the caliper cylinder made contact with the pad. Hoping to save money and not waste resources, I decided to hang up and reinstall a copious amount of brake noise. It worked. The script is gone. However, I shouldn't have had this headache with new brake pads. Luckily I was able to return the pads I bought from my local auto parts store. Now I've driven the car 66,000 miles and the squeak hasn't returned.
