Review on πŸšͺ Dorman 38641 Tailgate Hinge Bushing: Perfect Fit for Dodge, Ford, and Lincoln Models by Dexter Pullen

Exactly the right replacement!

Very good product for its intended purpose. This is an insert/insert for hinges in the trunk of a pickup truck. They are plastic and should be plastic! They are designed to reduce friction and wear on tailgate hinges. So people complaining about this are looking in the wrong place! Do your research and educate yourself before posting or giving false information. This undermines the credibility of one of the best market review sites, Revain. It also has one of the best search/inventory mechanisms for parts and products. Back to the product. Yes, a very thin pad/insert on the driver's side and it shouldn't fit otherwise! It gets tight so I recommend using lube. On the passenger side, it would be just as easy to squeeze the tabs together a bit until they come through; also use lubricant. Don't worry if the tabs break (they will if you're not careful or try to take them out and put them back in). Only function is to hold the inserts in place when you take the gate off, once you've lubricated them I doubt they'll fall off. My pickup has been with me for 10 years now and I just replaced this one and they (the old ones) don't look any thicker than this replacement.
