Review on 🍎 Starfrit 93013 Pro-Apple Peeler with Additional Core Slicer by Danielle Bates

Great for "simple " home use

I was blown away by this set. I was a little reluctant to buy it, thinking that at such a low price (just under $12) it might just break the first time you use it. . . but not like this. . . It actually worked really well for my needs. There are a few things you need to know. . .Firstly, this is not for "industrial" use as you probably understand. But I order ten pounds of apples to dry from a local farmer every week, and that's great for my "basic needs." There are four "thorns" that you place the apple on. You turn the crank and the apple flips over while the spring-loaded blade slices off the skin. Note that you need to keep turning clockwise and the blade will rise above the apple and keep turning. Once the blade is up, off and away from the apple, you can remove the apple. Note that you must be careful to pick up the apple and keep your hand away from the blade. This "kit" comes with a coring/cutting attachment which is not shown in the picture. The corer/slicer I received is also a pretty powerful model. Please note that it all depends on the size of the shape of your apples. . . but. . I've found that this knife doesn't usually remove the skin at the very bottom of the apple, so I have to use a knife to remove it manually and I don't mind. Then when I use the core/slicer it goes all the way down with no problems. The peeler also comes with a pair of spare blades.
