Review on Enhance Exhaust Performance with Flowmaster 942051 2In(O)/Out(C) 50 Series Df Muffler by Tory Richardson

Low hum and low cruising

Long gone are the days of my loud "take care of me" muffler. I installed this on my 1966 Ford Station Wagon with a 289 engine and single exhaust. The muffler makes a nice, low rumble at idle. So if you follow the car, you can be sure that there is an eight-cylinder engine under the hood - eighteen feet away. the real ear of the "car guys" and make it look good, but don't draw the attention of the public or local law enforcement officials. Remember that air conditioning was an expensive option when this car was built. Cars of this era were designed to be quiet at speed with the windows down and keeping the cabin quiet and free of resonance was an important factor in choosing this muffler. It works as advertised. Crossing a concrete bridge or underpass with the windows down encourages me to get in a little just for fun, but then return to cruising and blissful stillness. In summary, this muffler is no louder than the factory systems on some pickups today. If you want to stand out, this part is not for you. However, if you want a smooth cruise combined with a quiet rumble around town, this is a good choice. Another plus is that like all Flowmaster mufflers, they are made in the USA of the highest quality (heavy thing). Happy cruise!
