Nissan D21 Hardbody V6

I had the transmission converted back to the 2.25" pipe muffler. There it bolts to a Flowmaster 50 Series 942051. The exhaust pipe opens 2.50". The video is a short audio -Comparison of a Stock exhaust and a Flowmaster exhaust.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for old folks

Deep sound, quality part, right price

Replaced a rusty muffler on a Delta 50 on my 2001 Ford Ranger. I like the sound of the Delta 50 because it's a deep, unobtrusive sound. Welded a muffler (with two brackets) by a local welder for less than $100.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Nice muffler, definitely better than the stock muffler on mine.

Nice muffler, definitely an improvement over the standard on my '98 Lincoln Towncar. If I had the chance I would take it a little louder because it's quite quiet at idle but it's a good sound. Maybe I'll try Super 40s next time.

  • Nice
Cons
  • Almost never

Too quiet. Too bad I didn't go with a big rumble.

Installed two on my 1965 Ford Galaxie 390 V8 4bbl dual exhaust. To be honest, they are too quiet for this car. I was hoping for a good rumble when stepping on the gas, but at Delta 50 there's almost none, if any. Went on a recommendation and am glad they let you speak in the car but wish I had something more muscular and distinctive.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Oh. That nice sound when I start the car.

Series 40 seems to have too much harsh + poppy almost brushy sound that is extremely loud on smaller engines. It's all about that bass and hearty hum, it won't draw attention but it won't make people wonder if you're overcompensating. Believe it or not, you need some back pressure on the exhaust, so keep the standard pipes, or at least the same diameter and length. Noticeable HP increase! The inside diameter is just over 2 inches and the bushings are THICK - be careful if you're not a welder. A

Medium tone, no internal resonance

I was trying to make my Northstar powered Cadillac audible (they did a good job of muting the sound - the only way you know that you're driving fast is when you see tire tracks in your rear-view mirror and shrinking objects). However, I didn't want to be the guy on the street annoyingly announcing his arrival and departure. So I wanted a cool sounding, sporty exhaust note, and that's exactly what these Delta 50s deliver. They have a delta chamber that cancels out most of the resonance. They…

  • Great for a small house

  • Some little things

Low hum and low cruising

Long gone are the days of my loud "take care of me" muffler. I installed this on my 1966 Ford Station Wagon with a 289 engine and single exhaust. The muffler makes a nice, low rumble at idle. So if you follow the car, you can be sure that there is an eight-cylinder engine under the hood - eighteen feet away. the real ear of the "car guys" and make it look good, but don't draw the attention of the public or local law enforcement officials. Remember that air conditioning was an expensive option…
