What can I say? The OEM dealer for my 1997 Chevy Silverado V8 5.7L Vortec only had over 200,000 miles before it started to perform horribly. The OEM distributor had a plastic base and shaft (weird) but has worked much longer than other stories online that have mentioned problems with them, so can't really complain. THIS distributor is an upgrade! The base and shaft are aluminum (which everyone on the internet recommends if you need to decide on a replacement) and came as an all-in-one kit with a new cap and rotor. I could only give the installation a two rating, but that's not the fault of the seller or the product itself. Since you have to be very careful during installation to avoid code P01345, it becomes quite difficult to install, run, and to test, pull up, vote, repeat. This is a GM design issue. Getting in and out is no problem. It takes a bit of fine tuning to get it in the hole properly, and the oil pump groove inside the motor is a little finicky to make sure it lines up properly with the shaft. So be prepared to spend some time on this because it's not just slam and go! The seller shipped quickly and the goods arrived in perfect condition. My truck is running great now! Super value for money and well made! Installation is tedious but solvable.
