Cute little tool! - Power and hand tools

I recently bought a Hitachi 1/2 inch cordless impact wrench and fell in love with it immediately. Soon I wanted to be able to use the whole 1/2 inch. 4 inch hex bits in my tool box like smaller sockets, screwdriver bits and drill bits. A quick search on Revain for a 1/2" to 1/4" hex quick release adapter will reveal many results from reputable manufacturers in the $15-$20 range. This Neiko adapter, a brand I'm not familiar with, is only $6.80. I was skeptical at first because the price is so low, but since my order was over the free shipping minimum I decided to give it a try. Boy am I glad I did. This tool is superbly made and works like a champ. That would have cost twice as much. Unlike competing adapters and one of the other reasons I was so skeptical was the relatively small size compared to others. That's not a problem, but actually the real plus in adding something to the end of the drill is less wobble. Simply pull back the spring-loaded adapter and insert your tool of choice. If they have "notches," the adapter will clamp and not release the inserted tool. Suddenly my high torque 1/2" motor serves dual purpose, now it works with all my 1/4" stuff. Excellent! Oh, and blue suits me too.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
