I see no alternative.

I really can't find another adapter like this. I have bought 2 so far. The first one broke off and I can't get it out. The only problem I have is that when I try to pull the bit out, the adapter comes loose. and the time bit did not come out. But again, you have NO alternative. Why did I buy a 1/2 impact wrench?

Great little gadget.

This is a great way to turn a 1/2" impact driver into an impact tool when you need to get to a screw, torx or other fastener. It also allows the impact wrench to become an impact wrench a great impact wrench for a larger project This was the only one I could find that uses chrome/molybdenum steel. It should hold up well. Great addition to my impact wrench bag.

Pros
  • nice stuff
Cons
  • useless features

At first it seemed like it was made of high quality. After 3 weeks of use, the spring clip that holds the hex in the adapter broke. Still works, but the hex drop is annoying. Luckily I bought a Dewalt adapter at the same time and it holds up well. Update: Upon disassembling, I noticed that the end of the spring is open and free to rotate. In this case, he can pull the retaining wire out of position. This results in it's inability to lock the bit in place. If you take it apart, it's easy to fix.

  • Elegant design

Tried 2, both get stuck and stop releasing bits

I got one of these to try because my other brand got stuck trying to release bits. This one seemed to work fine at first, but after a bit of use (1 day screwing in some screws to make a table for the train) it couldn't be pulled down easily to loosen the bit where even two hands couldn't. do this. I was fed up and made a replacement to give the item another chance as it has a lot of good reviews. The second did the same, after even less use. Wouldn't let you pull down to release the bat. I went

Broke on first use, lasted 20 minutes with relatively light use

I used this on my cobalt impact wrench for a small project where I was doing a simple cabinet extension. I've mostly used it to turn drywall screws for hanging drywall, so it wasn't a particularly difficult application, and if this thing is built to take a beating, it shouldn't be a problem at all. Unfortunately, this product only took me 20 minutes to make. After about 20 minutes the spring mechanism that holds/releases the bit somehow broke and became 100% ineffective. So now if I put anyโ€ฆ

Cute little tool! - Power and hand tools

I recently bought a Hitachi 1/2 inch cordless impact wrench and fell in love with it immediately. Soon I wanted to be able to use the whole 1/2 inch. 4 inch hex bits in my tool box like smaller sockets, screwdriver bits and drill bits. A quick search on Revain for a 1/2" to 1/4" hex quick release adapter will reveal many results from reputable manufacturers in the $15-$20 range. This Neiko adapter, a brand I'm not familiar with, is only $6.80. I was skeptical at first because the price is soโ€ฆ
