Review on πŸ“» BTECH AMP-U25 UHF Amplifier: 20-40W Output, Analog/Digital Modes – Compatible with BTECH, BaoFeng, Kenwood, Yaesu, ICOM, Motorola Radios by Kelvin Ward

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High quality amplifier for amateur radios etc.

Works great when connected to one of my several HTs (Baofeng, AnyTone, etc.). Haven't used it for DMR yet, but for analog with 6W-8W input I get 40W-60W output, a VHF model and a good UHF model at 40W (I have both) which gives me over 25 rural Mountain miles there to meet distant repeaters and others with 50+W cellphones etc. There was a faulty unit I did it through. Don't know it got stuck in shift mode so couldn't take it well but once I found out I emailed Revain and got a replacement 2 days later. The connection to the HT is a bit weak, it's the connection between the cable and the SMA connector. However, another email to BTECH and the only question was where to send the replacement cables. The product quality is great and the customer service is too bad. The only thing I personally recommend is to get a thicker (e.g. 195) 2x SMA-M-HF cable for the HT connection. Plus it's a wonderful investment and I'll definitely buy it again!

Pros
  • Scope of delivery: Amplifier housing, mobile mounting bracket and set of screws, radio antenna cable to the amplifier (SMA socket to SMA plug), control cable (K1 to K1), user manual, speakers. Microphone and hanger
Cons
  • Communication with seller
