Love it! I'm glad I took the risk and bought it!

I love this amp! I use it with Icom ID-51 and Kenwood TH-D74. I cut off the cigarette lighter plug to use it indoors with an external power supply. I hooked it up to a Diamond X50 antenna and I'm able to connect to repeaters that were previously barely available. It's so cheap I could buy another one or two for my cars and leave this one at the cabin. I would suggest buying some male to male SMA cables if you are using it with a non-Baofeng radio as the cable provided is male to female and will

Performance far exceeds advertised

I have used this amp with three different 4-5W HTs. In a car with a new battery and a voltage of 13.5+ VDC, the maximum output power of the amplifier was 10 watts with an SWR of 1.3:1. Reducing the HT power to 2W results in a maximum power output of the amp of 4-5W. It is essentially twice the power and not worth the price in my opinion. I would not buy it again nor would I recommend it to anyone. Update: I've had this amp for a few months now and have used it with at least four differentโ€ฆ

None close to advertised capacity.

Updated Review 10/04/19 Ok, tested the replacement amp today. And it put out 37 watts connected to a UV-5R radio. Now this is acceptable compared to the first. You should check these walkie talkies and amos when you get them. This year I had 4 units of different models and they were all bad. Two BF-8HPs, one of those Amos and one of the 50x2 Handys. Original review: What a piece of junk. I connected a UV-5R which puts out just under 4W and an SWR of 1.1 at the output of the amplifier, I onlyโ€ฆ

High quality amplifier for amateur radios etc.

Works great when connected to one of my several HTs (Baofeng, AnyTone, etc.). Haven't used it for DMR yet, but for analog with 6W-8W input I get 40W-60W output, a VHF model and a good UHF model at 40W (I have both) which gives me over 25 rural Mountain miles there to meet distant repeaters and others with 50+W cellphones etc. There was a faulty unit I did it through. Don't know it got stuck in shift mode so couldn't take it well but once I found out I emailed Revain and got a replacement 2 days
