I bought these to put under my CD player but thought I could experiment a little. I have no problem using brass cones under the preamp. I tried the nobsound under the preamp with all the springs. My preamp is Modwright 9 swl. Something happened. I then reduced the number of springs to three per unit. This made the sound of the preamp warmer. Bass has increased a bit, but it's noticeable. I wasn't interested. I put the cones back and placed Nobsounds under the CD player. The same was done with the player, but the added body was welcome here. I've experimented with the number of springs used and it really makes a difference to the original components. I'll probably try them with my S&G DAC and streamer. But a nice product.
