The description of this starter motor says it will fit a 1995 BMW 325i and that it is a Bosch unit. When the packaging was opened, there was no indication that it was a Bosch device. More like branded TYC but still ok. After removing my old failed starter, I noticed that this new starter was not threaded like the factory starter. Because it is unthreaded, your transmission bolt will slip through and not be secured. Ultimately, you either have to buy some kind of nut to make it work. I was in a bind and decided to secure it with locknuts. It works well, no noise, just wish it was clearer where it was made and threaded like original genuine BMWs. A NOTICE. When ordering a starter for at least the e36 chassis, check if there is a mounting plate where the hole bolt is thicker or thinner than the rest of the plate. If the two holes are thin, most likely there is no thread. If they are thick, it is threaded. This starter mounting plate is thin and unthreaded.
