Fat cats dream then fear

Look at King Arthur! It costs money to make fun of my fat house cat when it first stepped on the lawn. HIS FACE IS SO FUNNY EVERY TIME I PUT IT INTO IT. My tall friend is a 4 year old domestic shorthair who weighs about 17 pounds. Because he's so plump, I figured outdoor exercise would be perfect for my spoiled house cat. For years he looked longingly outside, chirped at the birds, put his paw on the window when the dog went out. Now one day he will be able to move freely. I had to try for his health and obvious desire to be outside. It slipped out twice but I'm sure it was because it wasn't tight enough. I'm still looking for the right density for it. We've fenced off a large open space for him to test in until we figure out the details. At the moment it refuses to walk like a normal cat while it's on. Instead, he crawls like an army, but I know he only does it because he's a drama queen. It doesn't seem to hurt him (he talks loudly about the pain so he'll meow incessantly when hurt) and may take a week or more to get used to. Once he understands that he can be outside and walk safely, he will be a happy, stocky boy. I now enjoy his ridiculous reactions. Note: Some people say their cats were horrified by the sound of the velcro, my cat wasn't bothered at all. TL; DR is a fat 17 lb cat that fits perfectly in size M/L, he hates him because he is spoiled. not because it's uncomfortable.
