Review on PSU Thermaltake Smart RGB 700W black by Adam Kardasz ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good product, but having its own defects.

For the money, a very good power supply, but there is one very obvious flaw - when you turn on the computer for the first 5-7 minutes, the not very pleasant sound of the cooler is clearly audible. As if the petals are slightly catching on something (I don’t know how else to explain). Then the noise disappears and later rarely, but it happens that this annoying sound returns again for a while. In general, everything suits, except for the noise level. At the moment, the stock cooler from the Ryzen 1700 processor has been replaced with a three-section dropsy from Fractal Design, the stock cooler has been changed from the case to blowing to a more efficient one, on the Sapphire RX590 card, the coolers always spin by 20% in idle, and despite this, the weakest point according to the noise level is, of course, bp). Because of its background work noise. So if you plan to assemble the system in a quieter way, it is better to look at other options. BP purchased on February 12, 2022, i. E. it is completely new and there just physically nothing could wear out to make such a noise at the start.

Pros
  • 1. Price for "700" watt 2. Backlight (although it can be attributed to the pluses only if the case has a window, otherwise it is doubtful) 3. There are no questions about the length of the wires and their braid
Cons
  • 1. The box says "Silent", i. E. The idea is that noise should be kept to a minimum. But it is not so. More details in the comments.
