I used this tool to replace 5 corner stops/check valves along with compression rings and water supply hoses at my house in March 2021 and the compression rings/ferrules came off very easily . My house was built in 1980 and the compression rings were original. I'm not the first owner of the house, but I can say that the valves were replaced once, but the compression rings were not. I was skeptical about this product at first glance, but for the price I think it was worth a try. I'm so glad I bought it. Yes, there are similar tools, but this one had great reviews and the best price. It certainly saved me the frustration of having to struggle to get my compression rings off. Especially if you're working behind a toilet or under a sink and can barely move your hands or large tools. I watched some videos on how to use it and found I can do it too. It worked just like in the video and that's what the tool is supposed to do. After removing the check valve, it literally takes less than a minute to remove the compression ring with this tool. Superior Tool made a promise, and it did. Great tool at a very reasonable price. Yes, you can always teach old dogs new tricks. Watch after.
