I have MSI Armor GTX 970. Armor cooler is basic. terrible. At 100% fan speed it heats up to 80 degrees, and at a more reasonable 80% fan speed (still sounds like a turbine) it gets to 85+. Absolutely brutal. So I took a chance and bought a Kraken G12, even though Armor isn't a reference PCB. It basically works. The metal bracket that screws into the standard GPU mounts needs to be filed down as it rests against the VRM capacitors. The bracket is offset by about half a millimeter and fits perfectly. I also had to install a 60mm Noctua fan to blow over the VRM heatsink as the MSI Armor VRMs are on the opposite side of the board than most videos show. Maps so the fan that came with the G12 did little to nothing as it wasn't blown onto the VRM. Paired with Corsair H55. Flashed 970 with custom VBIOS allowing higher voltage. Currently running stable at 1525MHz at 1.275V and VRAM at 3850MHz. Running the heatsink fan (Phantek's high static pressure, 120mm PWM) at 60/70% results in a GPU temperature of around 50-55 degrees in games. Wonderful.
