Do they work? Yes, but hardly. You'll run into two problems: - They're really hard to get started straight - The external threads aren't sharp enough to bite into the wood unless it's *very* soft wood. You will not succeed with hardwoods and it will be difficult with some softwoods. If you only need an assortment for stores, that's probably fine. But if you're trying to build something better, do yourself a favor and grab something better, ideally with an assembly tool and the right bit. I've had great success with the EZ-Lok brand.
