Review on πŸ”§ SFL618 Lightweight Pneumatic Ergonomic with Replaceable Components by Kevin Hawkins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked great! Very important!

I used a NuMax floor nailer to install a new 3/4" x 5" Bruce Quicksilver solid oak floor board that we purchased from Lowes in our master bedroom. I decided to buy NuMax based on the reviews and also because the purchase price was roughly equivalent to a 3 day rental. As it turned out, the project took over three days because my work was constantly distracting me from the project, so I was glad I didn't rent and own a gun. This was my first wood floor installation and I have never used any other brand of nail gun. for comparisons. I worked out about 6 nails on a piece of soil and ended up at about 80 pounds of air pressure. I have had no problems or misfires with this gun after laying a 150 square foot floor. I ran the wood floor at a 45Β° angle and added oil to the nail gun every time I reloaded the L-nails or connected/disconnected the air hose. The baseplate is already set to 3/4" wood by default and I've never had a scratch on a wood surface. The hammer was of surprisingly good quality and solidly built. Because I was laying the floor at an angle, I had to use my finish nailer to nail a lot nailing against the walls but that's not NuMax's fault The floor turned out great and now I have a floor nailer for next time! The nailer's handle slipped out of place, didn't hang out and wasn't that noticeable but I put it back in place several times. Blisters from the smooth grip. Next time I'll cut the rubber grip off and replace it with friction tape. I also bought from Revain: β€’ Bosititch FLN-200 2" L nails - I have about 1500 Nails used per 150 square Floor β€’ Welland 4 x 12 Oak Vent Caps - I painted and polished them to match my prefinished floor β€’ Porta-Nail 42260 Floor Nail Set - expensive $20 but required - Used primarily to counter nails from my finishing gun when driving blind and blind a few times with NuMax when running under 80 lbs of random pressure. I highly recommend the NuMax SFL618 nail gun and the other products mentioned.
