Review on Enhanced EVERTECH 8-Channel 9-Port Power Box for Security Cameras - 12V DC 5A Ampere CCTV DVR Power Supply Switch Box, Key Locked by Brian Krump

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Then I bought a good roll of 500 feet of Siamese RG59 coaxial cable for video surveillance.

When I bought the basic security camera system (8 cameras), I had problems with my DVR which would suddenly reboot or just stop recording. Being naïve about such systems, I bought four 100ft cables and connected them, along with the 60ft cables that came with the system, to four cameras far from the DVR. I don't blame the system manufacturer, but I suspect that the braided cables you connect your DVRs and cameras to were the weak link in the system and have long been causing problems with the DVR. Also considering the thin Siamese extensions, that I bought. Then I bought a good quality spool of 500 feet of Siamese RG59 coaxial cable for a security camera - combined video and power - 20 AWG. I powered the cameras with an 8-channel Evertech Port Power Security Box, which supplies the cameras with a constant 12VDC, and used the power cord that came with the system solely to power the DVR. It really helped, haven't had any issues stopping or restarting the DVR since. I would advise against buying cheap cables and paying a little more for higher quality cables. On the other hand, cheap camera cables gave me a glimpse of ghosts or lines at night. Anyway, I was very pleased with how easy it was connecting the cameras to the Evertech power supply and I highly recommend this product. Thank you and God bless. Power - 20 AWG.
