Review on Vantrue X4S 4K WiFi Dash Cam With 24/7 Parking Mode, Night Vision, GPS Compatibility, Motion & Collision Detection, 1080P@120FPS, Capacitor, And 512GB Max Support by Troy Boren

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Seems Well Built, Operation is smooth. Packaging Great. USB-C power supply.

Noteworthy Qualities:1. all power source is USB-C. Longest USBC cable supplies is a 20-footer (see picture of manual)2. "rear" camera is stick-on and rotatable. You can actually use it as a "reverse camera" if you stick it in the appropriate vantage point. The camera and display will turn on automatically when you power on your car.3. Packaging is great, Big Box retail quality. I point this out b/c this means it can be given as a wrapped gift. Not all Best Buy products have this feature.4. Video output confirmed to be 4k @ 30FPS. Subjectively, video quality is great in daylight. Nighttime video quality is better than the handful of dashcams I have tried (subjective opinion). Vanture as a company seems to have solid video quality output as this is my 2nd product from same MFG.Further Comments:Recommended buy for a solid product. My use case is a dash-cam for SUV, replacing an old 2019-ish model of same Brand. You can use either the main camera solo, or combine it with a secondary camera. I suppose secondary camera is for the Gig-Economy drivers, but we use it as a rear-end dash cam. Interestingly, it can be used as a back-up camera too, but our car already has that feature. Install is the same as other dash cams. Main camera uses suction for the front windshield. Secondary camera can only be stuck on with the supplied adhesive. You then have to run the USB-C power source from the camera, hide it out of sight within the car, and reach a power source. Power source can be the supplied "Cigarette Hole Thingy" or your car's has USB/USBC output slots. Powering on your car automatically powers on the camera which will automatically record over old data. Our use case is motorvehicle accident documentation, as having the footage makes the (USA, Los Angeles) liability process always in our favor. Yes, I can attest to experiencing these proceedings with a dash cam. We can also sometimes serendipitously catch "interesting" footage while on the road which is also neat. Examples include a Space X rocket launch (thought it was North Korea coming at us at the time), Military Plane close flybys for airshows, and other people's car accidents (from mistakes) to teach my kids.Things to consider for other buyers:1. Both cameras use USBC power sources. The secondary power cable is a USBC to USBC 20 foot cable. The supplied power adapter has a unremovable USBC cable, but an open USB-A 2ndary slot. So if you wanted to power both cameras from the supplied power source, you would need a USBC to USBA adapter to utilize the 20 foot cable.2. Don't cheap out on SD card quality. I'm glad Vanture didn't supply the SD card for this reason.3. I need to figure out a bracket system that can hold the camera anchored to my rear view mirror. I've had no problems with the suction mount as of now, but I just don't trust suction cups and sticky pads in general. This addition is TBD!
