Mom used to tell me "If you have nothing to say, shut up". Well, I hope to say it mildly enough that she finds no reason to criticize her. I have an Allen bike rack (for my car) and have been using it for years. It's low-tech, reliable, and gets the job done. With that in mind, buying a wall shelf was a no-brainer. I installed it and went to put my two bikes on it and. no way. My wife and I have mountain bikes. Crossover between a racing bike and an off-road bike. With standard handlebars, you can comfortably place just one bike on the rack. It's possible to cram both in if you're not worried about damaging the shifter mechanism and such, but it's a terrible arrangement! I'm disappointed as Allen's solution is to simply add three inches to the bars. I'm considering rewarding this short-sighted stinginess by buying another rack so I can put a bike on each one. Anyway, I still like my trunk.
