Review on 📻 Retevis H-777 Walkie Talkies Long Range Hand Free Handheld Rechargeable Two Way Radio for Adults - Business 2 Way Radios with USB Charger (Pack of 6) by Jason Cartwright

Ordered a pack of six H-777 radios on March 3, 2020, received two days later. I installed the programming software from the Retevis website and tried to set it up with the custom frequency and CTSS tone control my car club uses to communicate during trips. My existing programming cable (used to configure Baofeng UV5R) works well with software and radio to read the factory programming settings. But all attempts to write custom programming fail - the radios report that they are tuned as desired, but they will NOT communicate with GMRS or Baofeng UV5R radios tuned to the desired frequency/CTSS setting . I suspect the software or radio is actually turning off the CTSS tones (or setting the wrong CTSS frequency) and I'm wondering if there was a hardware/software mod in the versions of the radio I received . Returned due to Revain's excellent returns policy. Oddly enough, identical appearance Baofeng BF-888S radios that I replaced didn't work with CHIRP software vs reports that work. The "888S" software from Baofeng website also does not work. BUT the Retevis software for the above H-777 radios WORKS with Baofeng BF-888S radios! Damn! I suspect once again a discrepancy between different software versions and radio versions. . .
