I used these stands to lift my 27ft Sundancer off a trailer to paint the floor while the EZ loader is in a shop that uses electric controls instead one hydraulic installed. I bought three of these keel supports, two BL3 hydraulic jacks, two SB4 sailboat supports and two additional flat supports (for the stern - see photo). Each of these keelposts can support 20,000 pounds, and three is far too much for a 25-27 (7,000 pound) powerboat. But for an engineer, the safety factor is important. I used the Brownell website to determine how many would do. These keel stands could probably really jack up the boat but it's not recommended to use them that way so I bought BL3 hydraulic jacks to do the lifting and then placed the keel stands. They are MUCH better than blocks because they are infinitely adjustable while blocks cannot. Three of them along the 20ft keel really balance the loads. Although they are expensive, in my opinion this is the only way to safely lift and store a boat (without a commercial lifting system). Bravo Braunell!
