This is a good sound pressure meter that offers some features that cheaper options don't have. Maximum retention, screen backlight, switchable between A and C ratings and Hi/Lo bands. While it's not certified like the much more expensive gauges, I trust it more than the widely available cheaper A-only options, and I also find it more accurate than any mobile app. The instructions are clear enough, but don't provide any information on whether this device can be further calibrated if you have access to a reference meter. I use it for real-time sound measurements and as part of my toolbox for measuring room acoustics for an acoustic treatment setup. As a budget conscious buyer, I have several other Pyle products in my toolbox and have had no issues with this brand's products.
