Unreliable Item for Car GPS

On the way to the destination, the screen will be blank, and then the word "CONNECTED” will appear in the red box when the computer and GPS are connected. I have to close and restart it to get back to normal. The only thing it is plugged into is the cigarette lighter, I turn off the phone but it happened anyway. And yes, I updated and registered it. I tried to run a diagnostic check but it kept saying "device not connected". As a (retired) truck driver, I always swore by Rand McNally, never again. RIP Rand McNally
