Review on Schwinn Thrasher Helmet Lightweight Microshell by Martin Alvarez

I have a big head. I couldn't even put it on my head (and I ordered the largest size available). I noticed a small dial at the very back of the helmet. I did 1/2 turn and everything fit perfectly. The helmet was nice and light with plenty of airflow to keep your head cool. It took me a minute to figure out how to undo the strap so it wouldn't choke me (big head). Not sure if a black helmet can be a bit hot on a 90 degree summer day. I will update the results. I have been riding for over 40 years and have never worn a helmet. My theory was that it was affecting my hearing and I would rather avoid being hit by a car than any limited protection a foam helmet can give me. God I was wrong. Having a head injury I decided it was time to reconsider the idea of a helmet. This helmet didn't create as much extra noise as other helmets. So I could hear perfectly and it gave me much needed spatial awareness. I was only 500 feet from my house when suddenly someone cut me off as I pulled my Toyota out of a parking lot. I slammed on the disc brakes, came to a complete stop, and began to push myself to the ground. Didn't realize I had put my foot on the slope, so the ground was 6 inches lower than I thought it would be. The bike fell and I hit my head 6 feet down on the concrete path. I landed all my weight on the left side of my head. The momentum was great. As I landed, I heard a crack! So I put my hand on my head to see if there was blood (thought I might have cracked my skull). Nothing. took off his helmet to see if he had jumped. Nothing. Checked the helmet for deep dents/scratches. Nothing. It's been two days and my neck doesn't even hurt. The helmet was amazing. After not wearing a helmet my whole life, how happy am I to put this helmet on? This helmet gets HUGE approval from me. It saved me from a trip to the ER (or much worse), I will never drive without it again. I would highly recommend it to an adult.
