Review on πŸ”¨ BSI-201 Quik-Cure Epoxy by Bob Smith Industries - 4.5 oz. Combined, Clear by John Brouillard

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Unexpected results with some materials. Didn't work on PLA like other Exoxys.

I use 5 minute epoxy all the time. I actually use all kinds of epoxy as I'm always building things, making prototype parts etc. I print a lot with PLA for prototype parts and have never had a problem. This week I printed a prototype drone part, glued the parts together (freshly printed) and lightly pressed to dry. I mixed the epoxy with a piece of cardboard and used a piece of string to mix it in. I have years of experience with epoxy and it mixed well and cured hard. I got worried as I checked my part and looked at the cardboard that had a piece of thread lying in the remnants of the epoxy. I usually leave a mixing chart on the table to monitor the curing of the epoxy. The leftovers were rock solid, but I got worried when I was able to pull a piece of PLA filament right out of the cured epoxy, leaving an imprint of twisted plastic on the cured epoxy. Check the adhesion of my part (it took about 8 hours) and with some finger pressure the parts came loose and I was able to separate the wring pieces from the surface with my fingernail. I've never seen epoxy behave like this on PLA printed parts (I do this regularly). I don't know if I will trust this brand. May work well on other surfaces but not on me.
