If you're looking for a better deal than a CD/SACD player, keep looking. On the other hand, if you like wasting money, feel free to check it out. I bought this player new for about $3,000 and it broke in less than 4 years. In addition, even for the last few hours of operation, it has occasionally had random issues (e.g. intermittent audio cuts, random inability to read discs, etc.). I just want significant problems to surface before the warranty expires. Had Yamaha been willing to back this second-rate model, the company would have offered a more than anemic two-year warranty. Given the price of this device, it should have been guaranteed at least 5 years. When I bought this unit, I saw Yamaha as a company with a solid brand image. No longer. In summary I have bought several CD players since 1985 and this is the second worst unit I have ever owned. Not impressed at all and Yamaha should be ashamed.
