This is a great cookware. I've cooked in stainless steel but nothing of this quality. It's thick, heavy, and heats evenly. Using the pot to caramelize the onions tonight, I realized that I don't have to move the onions from cooler to warmer places, which I usually do without thinking about it. Everything is evenly baked from the edges to the middle. And the weight of the pot keeps it from moving while stirring and working with even light ingredients. There is no lid that would have made an excellent pot even better. A matching lid is available but sold separately. These pots are sold in both single handle and double handle versions in a range of sizes and matching lids are also available. Therefore, if the 18cm size is smaller than what you are looking for, Mepra produces several other sizes. Mepra 1950 pans are dishwasher safe, but I still hand wash mine. I love a shiny stainless steel finish and want it to stay looking new for as long as possible, so I wash my hands and then dry it to keep water stains from drying out on the shiny surface. . So when it comes time to clean, if something gets stuck, I just soak the pot in hot water for a few minutes and that helps with anything that's stuck. I have found Dawn Platinum Power Clean to work very well on stainless steel cookware as it is specially formulated to break down sticky and burnt food and I have used it on a Mepra pan with excellent results. Mepra's 1950 line of pots don't come cheap, but you can feel the quality the first time you pick them up. They are beautiful, heavy, cook evenly and wonderfully!
