I wanted an old fashioned oil lamp that we have all over the house I grew up in. I grew up in a house that is now 150 years old. Electricity was added about 80 years ago (before me). I now live in an area where the lights often go out. Not only do I know how to trim the wick for maximum illumination, but also for the large flame that adds the warmth I can get on my finger. Unfortunately the globe is broken. Looks like this is what I was looking for. You can also use citronella in it, the wick will burn down faster. The light is pleasant. Mosquitoes don't like lavender either, you can take 3 or 4 and put them around your patio at night. It smells heavenly and you can enjoy the fire or watch the water.
