We wanted to paint our 50 year old painted cabinets but I was concerned about the chipping, cracking and adhesion issues I was seeing on the painted cabinets. We cleaned the cabinets with a basic green paint, let it dry and started painting. Color of unusual consistency, similar to custard. It took two coats and sometimes three, but it turned out beautifully. The color is very even and allows the texture of the wood to show through. After a few years we haven't had any chipping or adhesion issues and it's easy to clean. We decided to paint the front and sides of our staircase and I wanted it to be as durable as my cabinets. Two coats covered the stain and the staircase looks amazing. A word of warning, if you put this on something you don't want, peel it off before it dries because once it dries it won't come off! My enamel plate sticks out a little and NOTHING is removed, neither solvent nor scraping. This material is very durable
