The milling file will last a very long time if properly cleaned and cared for. I've abused one of them quite a bit by cutting hardened steel and have had to replace it. Nicholson has had an excellent reputation for their files and after purchasing this file I found that this still holds true The file cuts gently and is easy to clean with a brass brush Thank you Nicholson
